The state of Wisconsin has produced some very good basketball talent over the years, however it’s very rare to find a 6’7 kid who can shoot the lights out and run your team from the PG position. Well there is a kid in Merrill Wisconsin who is doing just that, Paul Jesperson the states top Senior prospect according to WisHoops.net has been doing it for the past three years and in the mean time has received major attention by doing so.
Paul’s play on the court has been noticed by many Division 1 colleges. Arizona State, Butler, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Northwestern are just some of the schools that have offered a scholarship to Paul, but there is one school that is not on that list that has me scratching my head…. The Wisconsin Badgers! Yes every team has a system, and not all the great players fit into that system, but to me that is exactly why the Badgers should have an offer on the table. Bo Ryan’s Swing Offense is predicated on every player being able to post up and play all five positions whiling trying to find a mismatch. Could you imagine if the Badgers for the next three or four years had a 6’7 PG who can shoot the lights out, in Bo’s offense this would be a headache for every team in the Big Ten.
Jesperson won’t be making his final decision until fall, but if he does choose a Big Ten school the Badgers will see first hand the mistake they made. Paul will be a great College basketball player and the Badgers are dropping the ball big time on this!
