Badgers vs Hawkeyes In Game Blog

2:36 pm – Kickoff just around the corner… this is a bigger game this week then last week, since Bucky beat them!  Badgers get the opening Kick, Gilreath didn’t quite start like he did last week.  Tolzien needs to have a good game in order for the Badgers to come out with a win!!  Stay tuned.

2:49 pm –  FIELD GOAL BADGERS! Nice opening drive by UW, the offensive line looks like they are picking up where they left off last week!  If UW beats Iowa it will be the first time since 2004 that UW beats Ranked teams in back to back weeks!

3:01 pm – Touchdown Hawkeyes.  That was not a good looking drive by the Badger Defense.  Iowa did what the Badgers did and pretty much had their way with what ever they wanted to do, but they capped it off with a TD instead of a FG like the Badgers.  Iowa did miss the Extra Point though…. Iowa leads 6 – 3.

3:11 pm – END of 1st QUARTER: Iowa leads 6 – 3… big news right now is Lance Kendricks was injured on the last kickoff, he got his legs rolled over, let’s hope for the best.   Reports right now are just a right ankle sprain, he’s riding the bike on the sideline right now, looks pretty positive.

3:19 pm – TOUCHDOWN BADGERS!!! Another great drive by Bucky capped off with a great play action TD pass to Bradie Ewing!  Badgers lead 10 – 6.

3:44 pm – Botched Field Goal attempt by Iowa.  High snap and didn’t even get the kick off, Badgers still lead 10 – 6 with 3:13 left in the 2nd Quarter.  This game could come down to Special Teams, and Bucky is head and shoulders better than Iowa in that department!

4:30 pm – 3 and out for Iowa to start the 2nd half, big stop by UW.    Now the Badgers need one of those nice long drives, which could be tough without White, Kendricks, and Toon!  This has to be Clay’s time!

4:42 pm –  TOUCHDOWN BADGERS!!! What a risky call by Bucky!  Instead of taking the Field Goal on 4th and 1 at the 2 yard line, the Badgers put the 4th down play in Clay’s hands and he did the work to get into the end zone!  Badgers lead 17 – 13!

4:52 pm – Iowa responds with a Toucdown of their own, the Badgers can’t get any pressure on Stanzi, and are having issues covering Iowa’s WR’s right now…. that isn’t a very good combo at all!  Badgers need to find a way to get to Stanzi or Iowa will score on every drive.  Iowa leads 20 – 17!

5:02 pm –  TOUCHDOWN BADGERS!!! After Iowa stopped the Badgers at the 16 on the Kickoff, they were flagged on the Kickoff for offsides, the next kickoff Gilreath returned it to the 50, then two nice runs and a pass to Anderson put the Badgers inside the 5 and Clay finished it off with a 3 yard TD run…. BADGERS retake the lead 24 – 20!

5:09 pm – END of 3rd QUARTER…. Badgers lead 24 – 20

5:19 pm – Iowa is driving again, Badgers cannot get any pressure on Stanzi.  Both Iowa and Wisconsin can’t be stopped on offense right now, this game will come down to which team can make the big play on defense!

5:22 pm – Touchdown Iowa… I called that play before it happened.  I wonder why I can call what is coming but the Coach who’s getting paid a lot of money can’t see it coming!  Iowa leads now 27 – 24

5:30 pm – After a very bad decision by Tolzien where he threw a bad pass which ended in a costly INT, the Badgers “D” holds Iowa 3 plays and a Field Goal…. Iowa leads now 30 – 24.  8:35 left in the 4th

5:33 pm – HUGE risky call by UW… Fake Punt from the 20 yard line… 1st down!  Huge Call, Iowa leads 30 – 20 with 4:02 left

5:46 pm –  TOUCHDOWN BADGERS!!! Monte Ball with a huge drive, and capped it off with a Touchdown run!  Badgers lead 31 – 30 with 1:06 left in the game!  “ON WISCONSIN”

5:58 pm –  BADGERS WIN…. BADGERS WIN….  OH MY GOD THE BADGERS WIN!!!  Final score 31 – 30 Badgers win!
