Badgers’ Jared Abbrederis Taken to Hospital With Chest Injury

by Football

The first half was already a disaster for the Badgers offensively when receiver Jared Abbrederis got totally obliterated by Oregon State cornerback Zack Robinson on an incomplete pass over the middle. Then it turned into a catastrophe. Initially, Abbrederis got up and tried to jog off, but he was unable to stay on his feet. Badger trainers came onto the field to tend to the receiver who was finally helped off. After being checked out on the sideline, Abbrederis was carted to the locker room.

In the locker room the training staff decided Abbrederis needed more evaluation, so he was sent to the hospital. Initial word is that the receiver suffered some kind of chest injury. Obviously he will not be returning for the second half to try and help the Badgers get over their offensive malaise. The first half was a brutal mess with no push from the offensive line, nothing going on from Montee Ball for the most part and at times some questionable play calling from Matt Canada (enough with the empty backfield crap!). Danny O’Brien has had pressure in his face all day and been unable to get many passes off.

And now, the Badgers are without their #1 receiver. They’re going to have to win this on guts and defense if they’re going to win it.
