It’s always nice to receive praise from the opposing head coach your about to face later in the week. It’s even better when that compliment comes from a long tenured, respected head coach. For Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Jared Abbrederis, he got one of the highest compliments from Iowa Hawkeyes head coack Kirk Ferentz.
Ferentz: I don’t know that there’s a better player in our conference than (Jared Abbrederis), at any position.

I don’t know if I would call Abbrederis the best player in the Big Ten (see: Melvin Gordon), however there is no doubt he is a big piece in the Badgers run happy offense. I’m not taking anything away from the senior wideout. What I’m saying is that yes, Abbrederis is doing some big things in Madison. Gordon however is putting up some big numbers and has looked very impressive.
Anyways, back to the matter at hand. The senior wide receiver out of Wautoma, WI has put up some big numbers once again this season, even as opposing defenses know he is the go-to-guy for quarterback Joel Stave. This season alone he has hauled in 43 receptions for 752 yards and 5 touchdowns. Not bad considering the Badgers have one of the best running attacks in the nation.
There’s another aspect to Abbrederis’ game as well. One of the main reason Gordon and James White are able to break for long runs is the down field blocking that he does. He is by far one of the best at his position blocking for running backs.
When you get a big compliment from a Big Ten legendary coach like Ferentz, you must be doing something right. And there is no doubt that Jared Abbrederis is doing a lot of things right during his time in Madison.
