The climb continued Monday for the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team as they find themselves inside the top five of the latest Associated Press top 25 poll, landing at the No. 4 spot. It’s a four-spot jump as the Badgers find themselves behind Arizona, Syracuse and Ohio State.
Rounding out the top five is the Michigan State Spartans, who lost their No. 1 ranking when they were defeated by the North Carolina Tar Heels on Wednesday.
A top five ranking is well deserved for this Badgers team as they have jumped out to a 10-0 after playing some stiff competition in the early stages of the season. All the early season tests are slowly starting to pay off for Wisconsin as they gear up for Big Ten conference play, but knowing this team and Bo Ryan they’re not going to settle for being a top five team. They know they still have plenty of room for improvement over the next three months of the season before the tournament.
The Badgers must continue to do what they have done best this season and that is balanced scoring, ball movement and hustle. In my opinion that third point is just as important as the other two. One thing Bo Ryan’s teams do best is hustle and this year is no different.
This is the highest the Badgers have been ranked in the AP top 25 poll since March 5, 2007 when they were at No. 3. Up next for the Badgers will be the 9-2 UW-Milwaukee Panthers at the Kohl Center Wednesday night.
