National Signing Day 2014: Will Craig Evans Flip His Commitment from the Badgers?

For college football fans everywhere, National Signing Day is just as important if not more important than the NFL Draft.

Ah yes, this time of year is great isn’t it folks? For Badgers fans it sure is as they are looking to wrap up their best recruiting class ever. A big question though player-wise heading into NSD on February 5th is if Wisconsin will be able to hang on to top in-state DT Craig Evans.

Ask the magic 8-ball and it comes back “outlook unclear.” Not something Badgers head coach Gary Andersen wants to hear.

A soft commit at best, Evans never really has had his heart fully set on Wisconsin. He has committed to the Badgers just to decommit a short time later, even though earlier this month he said he was committing back to Wisconsin. Now Evans has reportedly taken another visit to Michigan State over the weekend as the Spartans are making a strong, late push to flip the four-star recruit. The Crystal Ball on 247Sports has quickly shifted in the past 36 hours as 75% predict Evans choosing Michigan State over Wisconsin.

It was a big recruiting weekend for the Spartans as they hosted numerous top prospects from this class and from the 2015 class.

We are a little over a week away from National Signing Day and really anything can happen. In my opinion I believe Evans will flip to the Spartans. I never truly felt his heart has been with Wisconsin and I think this last visit to East Lansing sealed the deal.
