Wisconsin Badgers Land at No. 3 in Latest FanSided Big Ten Power Rankings

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

This past week of Big Ten basketball action saw the Wisconsin Badgers not only lose their third game in a row, but were able to reel things momentarily back on track Saturday in a win over the Purdue Boilermakers.

The latest FanSided Big Ten power rankings were released Monday as it has the Badgers sitting in the third spot behind the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans.

You can view the complete Big Ten power rankings by clicking here.

No surprise where the Badgers sit as they have been struggling as of late, losing three of their last four including a loss to current conference leader the Wolverines. The Badgers do however sit one spot ahead of the Iowa Hawkeyes, who have a better conference record (5-2 for Iowa, 4-3 for Wisconsin), but who also lost to Wisconsin earlier this season.

Wisconsin looks to keep the good times rolling as they face the Northwestern Wildcats on Wednesday and a showdown with the Ohio State Buckeyes Saturday.

If the Badgers can start getting hot once again and throw together a nice little winning streak, they could start to pick up ground on Big Ten leaders Michigan. That is of course if the Wolverines would start a losing streak of their own, say three games, to make things real interesting heading down the stretch.

They don’t call the Big Ten one of the best conferences in the nation for nothing.
