What’s more exciting than the start of championship week and the NCAA tournament? Starting those tournaments with some new uniforms to show off. The Wisconsin Badgers, along with nine other schools, will be starting their road to the Final Four with new uniforms provided by Adidas.

Louisville, Michigan, Kansas, Cincinnati, Indiana, Tennessee, UCLA, Baylor and Notre Dame will join the Badgers in showing off the new uniforms in league tournament play that kicks off next week. As part of their “Made in March” campaign, Adidas provided those 10 schools with the newest in apparel technology. From the Adidas news release:
Made in March uniforms feature a functional perforated print pattern along the leg of the stretch woven short to enhance breathability and ventilation, keeping players cool as the clock winds down. adidas’ quick-drying jersey technology found in current NBA uniforms along with ClimaCool zones on the chest, back and side, move heat and moisture away from the body to keep the jersey light and dry as players sweat.
Four teams-UCLA, Louisville, Baylor and Cincinnati-will be wearing the short-sleeve versions of the uniforms. I’m not the fashion police or anything, but those uniforms are hideous. When will they realize that and get rid of them all together?!
The Wisconsin uniforms feature the word ‘Next’ on the collar, a signature saying from head coach Bo Ryan. And for the first time since the 80’s, Wisconsin’s uniforms will say Badgers on the front. I honestly like the new look of the Badgers jerseys. I can’t say the same for some of the others, especially Baylor’s. It’s not so much the slogan ‘Sic Em Bears’ on the front that gets me. It’s the colors of the jerseys that I personally do not like.

Look for the stylish new-look uniforms next week as the Big Ten Tournament kicks off. Of course we will have to wait until day two of the tournament as Wisconsin has once again earned a first round bye in the conference tournament.
