Heading into tonight’s Sweet Sixteen battle between Wisconsin and Baylor, Badger Of Honor staff writers and editors take their stab at what to expect from both the Badgers and Baylor Bears.
Staff Writer Danny Zillmer - “I think Bucky is too physical. I also think Kaminsky will dominate down low. For some reason I’m thinking Josh Gasser has a big game. I got 81-73 Wisconsin and see lots of free throws down the stretch.”
Staff Writer Jimmy Oxley - “I see a track meet tonight for sure. The Badgers are going to need to get Kaminsky going. That lack of inside presence has been the Badgers’ downfall in past tournaments against zone defenses … too much passing around the outside then launching a late three. It would be nice to get some early fouls on Isaiah Austin as well. I’ll say Wisconsin 75-68. Close game throughout with free throws down the line deciding it.”
Staff Writer Jon Rzepecki – “As for tonight’s prediction, I’ve got UW 86, Baylor 69. Badgers do what Oregon did to them, and go up big at the half. The difference being Wisconsin shuts down the Bears from coming back.”
Co-Editor Taylor Johnson - Baylor is good, no doubt about it. I don’t think they have the same game as they did against Creighton, tonight. The zone might pose a problem for Sconnie, but I think they are good enough to beat it. I think Kaminsky has a solid game. And, hopefully, Mr. Dekker comes out aggressive tonight. Wisconsin 76, Baylor 68.
Co-Editor Doug Etten – “I think Baylor struggles shooting the basketball, or at least in doing so as hot as they did against Creighton. I think UW’s concerted effort to make the Bears play defense for 25-30 seconds each time down the court wears on them a bit . I also think Dekker has a HUGE night tonight – I hope! Maybe someone like Bronson Koenig comes out of the shadows, also. Badgers 78, Baylor 73.
