The road to the 2014 Final Four won’t get any easier for the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team as they’ll try this Saturday to be one of the four teams left fighting for a National Championship.
Wisconsin got out to an early lead in their 17-point win over Baylor, Thursday, and never looked back as they controlled the offensive tempo and didn’t let the Bears get into a groove.
Frank Kaminsky, who chipped in eight points in the first six minutes, had a lot to do with that.
The Junior center ended the night with 19 points and helped cement his place beneath the basket where the Badgers controlled just about every facet of the game against a taller, longer Baylor squad.
Arizona survived an upset-minded San Diego State who held a lead late in the second half before the Wildcats made their final push.
Their lead held up late as they were the second No. 1 seed to move into the round of eight.
Florida, the first No. 1 seed, would advance earlier in the evening with their win over UCLA.
Wisconsin will play the Wildcats in Anaheim this Saturday with the tip time set for 7:49 CST.
