Wisconsin vs. Arizona: How to Watch the Elite Eight Showdown

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The day has arrived for both the Wisconsin Badgers and Arizona Wildcats. Win the Elite Eight clash and you receive a trip to the Final Four in North Texas. Unfortunately for the loser, it’s a trip back home and another shot at it next season.

In the Sweet 16, the Badgers had smooth sailing as they dismantled Baylor’s zone defense and cruised to a 69-52 victory. Wisconsin has received great production from big man Frank Kaminsky, who is averaging 15.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. After blowing out American in the second round, staging an impressive second-half comeback against Oregon in the third round and cruising past Baylor in the Sweet 16, Wisconsin will face a great Arizona team and their top-ranked defense.

Arizona comes into the Elite Eight matchup boasting the top adjusted defensive efficiency in the country. Head coach Sean Miller has the Wildcats playing a defense similar to what Dick Bennett ran in Madison for years and what Tony Bennett currently runs at Virginia. Only difference is Arizona is more aggressive. Their offense is pretty good as well, led by freshman phenom Aaron Gordon, who is averaging 16.3 points per game in the tournament. Nick Johnson has also been spectacular in the three games leading up to this point, averaging 16.7 points per game as well. Stopping these two players will be a huge key if the Badgers want to advance to the Final Four for the first time since 2000.
