Although the Wisconsin Badgers do not kick off the 2014 season for another 10 weeks, Las Vegas has put out betting lines for a few of their games. The Golden Nugget has released a slew of betting lines on games throughout the season and around the nation, including a handful of Badger games.
While not every game is handicapped at this time, the Golden Nugget does have Wisconsin favored in every game they have except for the opener against the LSU Tigers. And honestly, does that surprise anyone?
The four games the Badgers find themselves favored in are all by single-digits, with the exception being their annual Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe against the Minnesota Gophers (-13).
Without further ado, here are the five games the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas has handicapped for the Badgers.
Date & Location
|LSU Tigers||7||Wisconsin||Aug. 30-Houston, TX|
|Wisconsin||7||Northwestern||Oct. 4-Evanston, IL|
|Wisconsin||7||Nebraska||Nov. 15-Madison, WI|
|Wisconsin||6||Iowa||Nov. 22-Iowa City, IA|
|Wisconsin||13||Minnesota||Nov. 29-Madison, WI|
There really are no surprises here at all in my opinion. I couldn’t see where they would be favored against LSU at all and being a seven-point underdog seems fair. Wisconsin is not favored by much against Northwestern, but Ryan Field has been nothing but a house of horrors for Bucky. But tight lines against Nebraska and Iowa is to be expected. As is an almost two-touchdown spread against Minnesota, especially with the game being at Camp Randall Stadium.
It will be interesting to see these numbers-if they do at all-fluctuate from now until the start of the college football season.
