Frank Kaminsky Top Returning Player in College Basketball? Seth Davis Thinks So

It could have been very easy for Frank Kaminsky to leave the Wisconsin Badgers after the season he had last year and enter the NBA Draft. His stock was as high as ever after his performance during the season and especially the Badgers run to the Final Four. But he didn’t leave early and decided to come back for one last ride with Bo Ryan and crew. Because of that, college basketball insider Seth Davis has called Kaminsky the best returning college basketball player this upcoming season.

I do agree with Davis when he says Kaminsky’s draft stock couldn’t be any higher than what it was after the Badgers loss to Kentucky in the Final Four. He burst on the scene last season after barely seeing the floor the year before. Kaminsky scored a school record 43 points against North Dakota in the fourth game of the season. Frank the Tank averaged 13.9 points a game and 6.3 rebounds during the regular season, but it was the NCAA Tournament where Kaminsky really shined. Kaminsky averaged 16.4 points per game and just under six rebounds while earning Most Oustanding Player honors in the West region. In the very thrilling overtime victory of Arizona in the Elite Eight, Kaminsky dropped 28 and 11 leading the Badgers to their first Final Four since 2000.

Wisconsin returns virtually every player from a year ago (Ben Brust the only starter not returning) and has a very legit shot of making it back to the Final Four. Kaminsky will be the focal point of Bo Ryan’s offense, coupled with Sam Dekker (who is having a phenomenal off season I must say) and this could be one of the best teams in the nation.
