Kickoff to the 2014 college football season is literally right around the corner. Before you know it we will be glued to the televisions on Saturdays (some all Saturday long) watching every football game we can. Lets face it, we live for this. And one thing that people love to read and talk about are projections, especially bowl projections. Phil Steele, one of the most well-respected names in college football, just updated his bowl projections. Like most that have come out, Steele has the Wisconsin Badgers playing in the Capital One Bowl.
Although many have picked the Badgers in the Capital One Bowl, the opponent is not the same. Steele has Wisconsin taking on an up-and-coming Ole Miss team. It would mark the first time that these two teams would meet.
The Rebels are a very intriguing team that could cause some havoc in the SEC. Head coach Hugh Freeze was able to comprise one of the best recruiting classes in 2013. He was able to land five-star and arguably the best player in the class Robert Nkemdiche. Freeze also brought in five-stars Laremy Tunsil (OL) and Laquon Treadwell (WR), as well as numerous four-star recruits.
Ole Miss has never played in the Capital One Bowl. The Badgers on the other hand are very familiar with the bowl game. In the last nine Capital One Bowl games, the Badgers have played in three of them coming away with two victories. A 34-24 loss to South Carolina this past year was their most recent trip to Orlando.
As the season draws closer there are bound to many more predictions and projections. We at Badger of Honor will keep you updated with all the latest news notes from the Wisconsin Badgers.
