Wisconsin Badgers Add 18th Commitment of 2015 Recruiting Class

After offering TE/DE Jake Pickard (Millburn, N.J.) at the beginning of July, the Wisconsin Badgers found themselves at the last day of the month with a commitment from the three-star recruit. It’s the 18th committment for the Badgers in the recruiting class of 2015.

Pickard is a 6-6, 231 pound versatile player who will play defensive end for the Badgers.

Now that Pickard is a Badger, he’s stated that he’s now going to turn into a bit of a recruiter for Wisconsin. Via BadgerBlitz.com:

I’m absolutely going to start recruiting. We have a cornerback coming in, I think he’s on campus today and tomorrow. I’m definitely going to start recruiting for Wisconsin because our class right now is good and I’m so glad to be a part of it, but we still have some open spots left and we’re not going to be done until we get the best of the best.

This is the third defensive end recruit the Badgers have seen committed to the program. Joining Pickard is fellow weak side defensive end Nate Howard (St. Louis, MO) and strong side defensive end and in-state recruit David Pfaff.

Pickard is the second player the Badgers grabbed from New Jersey, joining offensive tackle Sam Madden of Barnegat.

According to 247Sports.com, the Badgers have now vaulted five spots to 20 in national recruiting ranks. Wisconsin also moved up a spot in the Big Ten recruiting rankings, moving from four to three.

Wisconsin is quietly moving up the recruiting rankings and landing some really solid players. Here’s hoping the Badgers can keep this momentum going through National Signing Day next February.
