Burks is considered one of the Badgers highest-rated recruits, coming in with a three-star ranking from 247 Sports as well as a 4-star designation from ESPN. 247 calls him the fifth-best player out of the state of Indiana, and the 33rd-best outside linebacker nationally.

Burks will get the chance during his freshman year to play behind one of the best outside linebackers in the country in Vince Biegel. No one else on the badgers linebacker group is a slouch, so he will be surrounded by strong players at his position, giving him the opportunity to grow in the Wisconsin system.

At 6-foot-3, 221 pounds, Burks already has the frame to be a successful outside linebacker for the Badgers. From this highlight clip you can see Burks can play the run as well as the pass, a much-needed skill to be an outside linebacker in Wisconsin’s 3-4 defense.
