The Big Ten race is tight right now, but the Wisconsin Badgers have a chance to create a little separation if they are able to take down Indiana at the Kohl Center Sunday afternoon.

Big Ten conference is slowly taking shape with a few teams at the top starting to separate themselves from the rest. The Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday afternoon have a chance to create a little more separation when they take on the Indiana Hoosiers at the Kohl Center.

With the Maryland Terrapins falling at the hands of the Purdue Boilermakers Saturday, Wisconsin now finds themselves at top of the Big Ten all alone by half a game. Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan, one of the best players in the country, led all scorers with 26 points.

Speaking of the best players in the game, the Badgers have a pretty good one in Ethan Happ. Thanks to a recent string of good games, Happ leads the Badgers in scoring with 14.5 points per game while grabbing 9.2 rebounds per game as well.

The Badgers are winners of their last six games which saw Happ score (at the time) a career-high 28 points against Minnesota. One week and two games later Happ set a new career-high with 32 points in an overtime win against Rutgers at Madison Square Garden.

Indiana has been slip-sliding down the Big Ten standings in recent weeks. They’ve lost two of their last three games and it took three overtimes to take down Penn State.

Earlier this season the Badgers defeated the Hoosiers 75-68 at Bloomington, IN. It was 1998 since the Hoosiers last won at Wisconsin and Tom Crean’s record against the Badgers is lackluster to say the least. Under Crean, Indiana is just 2-14 against Wisconsin.

Wisconsin has been untouchable at home, not losing one game this season inside the Kohl Center. With a slight lead over the rest of the Big Ten, this provides the Badgers a great chance to create even more separation in the conference and pull away from the likes of Maryland and Purdue who are a half game and one game back, respectively.
