The NBA Draft will take place on June 22nd so lets consider good landing spots for Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes

As Badger of Honor reported last month, Nigel Hayes attended the 2017 NBA Draft Combine.  He did fine in terms of athletic testing overall but not exactly elite.

Hayes measured just a shade under 6’8″ and 254 pounds and a 7’3″ wingspan at the NBA Draft Combine.  He did well in the lane agility, sprints, and shuttle running drills.  In his Wisconsin career, Hayes shot 47.8 percent on two-point attempts and 33.2 percent beyond the arc.

Hayes might be picked in the second round.  But whether he is picked or goes the undrafted free agent route, let’s consider which NBA teams would be the best fit for Hayes?

We’re looking for teams that have a need for an inside scorer and passer.  Hayes is not going to be a ball-dominant primary scoring option or offer major rim protection.  But there has to be a place for a guy with Hayes’ well-rounded skill-set and basketball IQ right?  Right?
