Wisconsin Badgers on SI List of Top 400 NFL Players

JJ Watt, 2nd Overall, 1st  Defensive Player

Watt is an incredible football story transferring to the Wisconsin Badgers and switching over the defensive line.  Good move.  He was injured for most of 2016, but on the field there is not another player comparable at present.  Watt actually played all 16 games in his first five NFL seasons before getting hurt last year.  He has four Pro Bowls and an equal number of First Team All Pro honors.  In 2015, Pro Football Focus exhausted its superlatives as Watt was its top rated player for the third consecutive season.

"We have created graphs before that Watt has literally broken the scale of. The entire league appears on a perfect bell-curve that peters out into nothing, then a little more nothing, then J.J. Watt, in a data point all of his own off the end of the scale."

Another strong rating for a Wisconsin Badger player on the SI list, and again, hard to find much fault with the reasoning.  I didn’t see a tweet from Watt about the SI list, but he was pretty clear about his feeling toward the NFL’s Top 100  Players List.
