Q: Maryland had the 2nd lowest turnover margin in the conference.  Was that bad luck or something more structural?

A: This is a perplexing one. Maryland hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire when it comes to forcing turnovers over the last few seasons. Inexperience was an issue at the cornerback position J.C.

Jackson arrived on campus in July, so he didn’t have a ton of time to learn the playbook. Tino Ellis has a load of potential, but it was also his first season at Maryland.

Interceptions certainly weren’t plentiful, but that can be expected to change with more experience in the secondary this coming fall.
