Northwestern
Simply put, the Badgers should sweep Northwestern this year. It’s not a great program, and the Wildcats don’t have any amount of great returning talent. This game at home is a must-win. The Badgers have to fight off last year’s demons to make a run to the tournament and dropping this game at home would count greatly against their resume as a “bad loss.”
Wisconsin has the advantage in just about every area in this contest. Look for Wisconsin to win comfortably. These are the kinds of games that a team comfortably in the NCAA tournament doesn’t have trouble with. The Badgers can’t be the exception.
At Nebraska
Nebrasketball is the flavor of the day for college hoops fans. Tim Miles won 22 games but missed the tournament due to strength of schedule issues. This year, with some solid returning talent, he’ll try to prove the Huskers are the real deal.
In a weaker Big Ten, anything is possible. But Nebraska is part of why the Big Ten is as weak as it is. Wisconsin is the better team, and I don’t think Lincoln, Nebraska is that difficult of a place to play. This game should be had by the Badgers considering the upcoming stretch is a difficult one.
