Wisconsin Basketball continued its hot streak on the recruiting trail this weekend, picking up commitments from 4-stars Matthew Mors and Chucky Hepburn.
After a couple of rough cycles in 2018 and 2019 in which Greg Gard and the rest of the Wisconsin Basketball staff missed on several top targets and had many Badger fans questioning their recruiting ability, we are now witnessing them recruit at perhaps the highest level in program history.
It has been a truly remarkable run for Gard and company over the last couple of weeks.
Two weeks ago, the Badgers landed a couple of Plan A class of 2020 targets in as many days in Minnesota products Ben Carlson and Steven Crowl. Crowl was thought to be a Badger lean towards the end of his recruitment, but the commitment from Carlson, arguably the staff’s top overall target in the class aside from Jalen Johnson, came out of nowhere and was a welcome shock for most Badger fans who closely follow recruiting.
Then came the events of today, with Wisconsin locking down two of its Plan A targets in the class of 2021 with more than a year left available to them in their recruitments. It turns out Gard and company can recruit just fine, following up a Top 10 2020 class with a group in 2021 that currently ranks as the nation’s best early on and should get even better with the Badgers sitting in a good position with some other top targets.
With that being said here’s what the Badgers are getting in new commits Chucky Hepburn and Matthew Mors, who both committed to the Badgers today after taking official visits to campus over the weekend.
