National Signing Day 2016 is here

The Wisconsin Badgers National Signing Day 2016 class is well underway, and the Badgers have added Illinois wide receiver/cornerback Kendric Pryor to the recruiting class of 2016.

Pryor is a 6-1, 170-pound receiver/cornerback out of Homewood-Flossmer High School in Flossmer, Ill. He’s a 247Sports composite three-star prospect, the 31st-best prospect in the state of Illinois and the 162nd-best WR in the class of 2016.

The Badgers offered Pryor back in May. Iowa, Iowa State, and UConn were also high on his list. Pryor signed his letter of Intent on signing day

Pryor could help add depth to a wide receiving corps that will lose Alex Erickson, Jordan Frederick, A.J. Jordan and Tanner McEvoy next season. Right now the 2016 receiving group is shaping up to be some combination of Robert Wheelwright, Jazz Peavy, Reggie Love, and George Rushing and could include some of the young players from the recruiting class of 2016.

Pryor could also add depth to a defensive back group that loses three starters in Michael Caputo, McEvoy and Darius Hillary. The Badgers currently list Pryor as a receiver/cornerback, so he hasn’t officially joined either position group.

A quick look at his highlight reel shows why he’s coveted by both the Badgers offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Here’s his player profile, per UWBadgers.com:

High School: Three-star prospect by 247 Sports, ESPN, Rivals and Scout … first-team all-state by Champaign News-Gazette as a senior, logging 43 receptions for 1,152 yards and 12 touchdowns … first-team All-Southwest Suburban Conference as a junior and senior … recorded 33 catches for 704 yards and 7 TDs as a junior … also three-year letterwinner in basketball, earning honorable mention all-state honors as a sophomore … high school coach was Craig Buzea

Personal: Parents are Keith Pryor and Cynthia Pryor … relatives Tony Pryor (Indiana State), Keith Pryor (Eureka), Ontario Pryor (Eastern Michigan) and Troy Pryor (Illinois) all played college football
