The Wisconsin Badgers women’s hockey team has sold out their meeting with Saint Cloud State Saturday afternoon at the Kohl Center.

The Badgers women’s hockey team will host their fifth ever “Fill the Bowl” game Saturday afternoon when they host the Saint Cloud State Huskies in the latter half of a two-game weekend series.

Wisconsin (19-2-1) took care of business Friday night at home against the Huskies, winning 9-0 behind Emily Clark’s three goals and six points- tied for second most in a single game in school history. It was the fifth straight win by the Badgers and bumped their record up to an NCAA-leading 19 wins and 153 points.

On Saturday, the Badgers will host their first “Fill the Bowl” contest since the 2013-14 season. In that game, the program broke the NCAA women’s hockey attendance record when over 13,500 fans filled the Kohl Center to watch the Badgers. Normally, the Badgers play at Labahn Arena, which holds just over 2,200 patrons.

“We’re thrilled to host another ‘Fill the Bowl’ game,” Wisconsin head coach Mark Johnson said prior to the season. “The community has done a great job supporting this event in the past. As a program, we are excited to play again in the Kohl Center and look to break our attendance record we set a couple of years ago.”

So what makes this game so special? Well, for starters, tickets to the game are just $1. With Wisconsin being the No. 1 team in the nation, a bargain that great is too hard to pass up.

For the players, the opportunity to play in one of the most prestigious arenas in the country in front of a crowd that is more than six times of what their home arena can even hold also boasts as a special night.

“The team is excited to play another game in the Kohl Center” senior alternate captain Jenny Ryan said. “My last ‘Fill the Bowl’ experience was one I will never forget. It is amazing to see how much support we can get for such a great cause and it’s obviously extremely fun playing in front of such a big crowd.

The game has been announced as a sell-out already, so there is a good chance the previous record could be broken given that the Kohl Center can hold 15,000+ for hockey games. Wisconsin is 3-1 in “Fill the Bowl” games and the program is an all-time 135-26-13 in contests played in the Kohl Center, winning 30 of the last 35.

The game will begin at 4:00 pm CT and will be televised on FOX Sports Wisconsin.
