Wisconsin’s Ryan Ramcyzk should be the first offensive lineman drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft.

There is no real consensus among NFL experts as to the order of offensive lineman (OL) in the 2017 NFL Draft.  Ramcyzk, Alabama’s Cam Robinson, Utah’s Garett Bolles, and Western Kentucky’s Forrest Lamp all appear to be all first round picks.

Below is a comparison of the measurable from the four OL that are most frequently projected to be drafted in the 1st round.  Bolles especially, and Lamp helped themselves at the NFL Combine with their athletic testing.  Ramcyzk was unable to complete NFL Combine or Pro Day workouts because of a postseason surgery to repair hip damage.

Garett Bolles Forrest Lamp Ryan Ramcyzk Cam Robinson
Age 24 (25 in May) 22-23 22-23 21
Weight 297 309 310 322
Height 6’5” 6’4” 6’6” 6’6”
Hand Size 9 3/8” 10 5/8” 10 7/8” 10 ½”
Arm Length 34” 32 1/4” 33 ¾ 35 ½”
Bench Press 34 26
3-Cone 7.29 7.55 7.81
20 Yd Shuttle 4.55 4.62 4.82
Broad Jump 115” 111” 106”
Vertical Jump 28” 27.5” 26”
40 Yd Dash 4.95 5.0 5.15

Bolles has some impressive numbers but he will be 25 next month having gone on a mission trip before playing college football.  He also likely would need to add some muscle mass to be able to handle power rushers in the NFL.  That might rob him of some of his athleticism.  Robinson is young, but his athletic numbers are adequate not elite.  Lamp is an intriguing prospect but it is not clear he will last as a Tackle at the NFL level.
