The rise of AI has changed how we do many various tasks and even how we simulate seasons. Last season, I ran simulations using EA Sports, but this year, you can ask Grok and ChatGPT to run simulations for you. I had both of those AI models run simulations on the Wisconsin 2025 football season. Below are the results, with both spitting out these results on the first simulation.
Since AI runs off of the prompts you put into it, you can dictate results based on what prompt you put in. Since both AI services gave really promising projections, I think it's important to note that the prompt was simple and did not steer toward these good news scenarios. The prompt was, "Will you do a simulation of the Wisconsin football 2025 season? Projecting wins and losses for each game."
Grok projects Wisconsin to go 6-6 in 2025 Football Season
Grok has a very optimistic but realistic scenario for the Badgers. The sim has Wisconsin beating Miami (OH), Middle Tennessee, Maryland, Iowa, Washington, and Illinois but losing to Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana, and Minnesota. It said it came to these conclusions based on win probabilities based on opponent projects, home and away, and most likely outcomes.
6-6 would be a step forward for the program, which missed a bowl game last season at 5-7. I think most fans would take this even if it means dealing with Minnesota fans all off-season again. This is a positive step forward. However, the other model may even be more optimistic.
ChatGPT projects Wisconsin to go 7-5 in the 2025 Football Season
Wisconsin fans will like the ChatGPT simulation even more as it projects the exact same wins but adds a win over Minnesota. The projection by ChatGPT said that it was working under the assumption that the Badgers would improve under a new offensive coordinator, Jeff Grimes, and with a better quarterback, Billy Edwards Jr.
Feel free to run your own simulations and add more variables if you want. While it doesn't mean much until you see improvement on the field, it's interesting to see two different models assume that the Badgers will improve next season even with a top-five hardest strength of schedule in all of the FBS.
