No. 2: Another Gordon record-setting run
The same day Melvin Gordon’s single-game rushing record was broken by Oklahoma’s Samaje Perine, Gordon was busy setting another record against Iowa.
Midway through the third quarter, Gordon took a handoff from inside Wisconsin’s own 10-yard line, busted through the offensive line and was immediately off to the races, taking the ball 88 yards before he was caught inside Iowa’s 10-yard line.
The long carry made Gordon the 17th player in FBS history to run for 2,000 yards in the season, and he became the fastest back to do so in just 241 carries.
