No. 7: Blocking Rutgers’ hopes
Our No. 7 play features another special teams play, this one a momentum-shifter that sparked a big win for Wisconsin on the road at Rutgers.
A 0-0 tie held through most of the first quarter as Wisconsin had no trouble slowing down the Rutgers offensive attack, but couldn’t get their own offense going.
With about five minutes left in the first quarter and Rutgers ready to punt from their own 44-yard line, wide receiver A.J. Jordan broke through and got a hand on the punt. Wisconsin recovered and was set up with great field position.
Two plays later, Melvin Gordon found the endzone, and the rout was on. Wisconsin went on to secure a blowout 52-0 victory.
