Koenig seems to be a perfect fit to take a last second shot.

More from Wisconsin Basketball

He has a good pull up jumper and he can get all the way to the hoop if his defender cheats. Many times this season, he has bailed Wisconsin out at the end of shot clocks like a young Jordan Taylor. In fact, he even showed that he has the willingness to step up in the clutch, as he drove to the hoop and hit the two game tying free throws against Michigan State in the Big 10 Championship game.

So what’s the problem? First off, this would be the biggest shot of his life. I’d much rather have the rock in the hands of a seasoned upper classman. Second, and most importantly, he relies a lot on a pull-up jumper over a defender.

Against Kentucky, that defender will probably be the 6 foot 6 Andrew or Aaron Harrison. Not exactly an easy opponent to shoot over.

Next: Sam Dekker?
