‘The Shot’

After holding on for the win against North Carolina, the Wisconsin Badgers found themselves in an Elite Eight rematch. A year after knocking off the Arizona Wildcats in the Elite Eight a year ago, the Badgers would again see the Wildcats for a shot at the Final Four.

Last time, Wisconsin was the two seed, and earned a late-game upset victory.

This time around, the Badgers were the one seed, although many predicted an Arizona win.

For the second straight game, Wisconsin found itself trailing at the break. The Badgers quickly turned a three-point deficit into an eight-point lead early in the second, but Arizona wasn’t going down without a fight.

But Sam Dekker wouldn’t be stopped, either.

He knocked down five second-half three pointers (the Badgers hit 10 as a team) including one of the most memorable shots of the entire tournament.

Wisconsin held on for the 85-78 victory, and advanced past Arizona to the Final Four for the second straight season.
