Melvin Gordon was drafted 15th overall by the San Diego Chargers, and the Twitter reaction to the Wisconsin Badgers product heading to the NFL featured Tweets from former Badgers, past teammates, and the man himself.
As the 2015 NFL Draft unfolded in the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Twitter users across Wisconsin and the country were busy talking about Melvin Gordon.
Former Badgers – both basketball and football players – wished the new pro best of luck heading into draft night.
Gordon himself acknowledged the big moment, and was pumped up as the draft got underway.
He didn’t need to wait long, as the San Diego Chargers traded up in the draft to get their man.
Gordon’s Wisconsin teammates were quick to congratulate the running back on his big night.
Former Badgers, former teammates, and other Wisconsin athletes were quick to congratulate him, too.
And of course, our buddy Fake Bo Pelini was quick to weigh in:
Sorry, fake Bo, Melvin’s going to keep that cash, and we wish him the best of luck with the Chargers.
