Next up in our countdown, signifying 75 days until college football is back, is offensive tackle Chris McIntosh.

A Pewaukee native, McIntosh was one of the best offensive linemen in Wisconsin football history.

A four-year starter, he locked down the left tackle position at UW from 1996 through 1999. He was a team captain in 1998 and 1999.

In both of those seasons, McIntosh and the rest of the UW offensive line paved the way for Ron Dayne as the Badgers won back-to-back Rose Bowls.

1999 was a banner year for the Badgers standout. He was an Outland Trophy finalist, the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year, the Columbus Touchdown Club Player of the Year, and a consensus First Team All American. He was also a co-winner of the Jimmy Demetral Team MVP, sharing the honor with Dayne.

McIntosh was taken with the 22nd overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, the second Badger off the board in the first round (Dayne, 11th overall to the New York Giants).

His NFL career was cut short due to recurring neck injuries. He played three seasons in the NFL before retiring.

In 2005, McIntosh was voted a member of the All-Alvarez Team, and last July, McIntosh was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletic Department Hall of Fame.

Who wore No. first?

• Quarterback Alan Nelson was the first Wisconsin player to wear No. 75 in 1933.
