An Auburndale, Wisconsin native, Tauscher walked-on at UW-Madison in 1995, and earned his first varsity letter in 1998.

He became the starting right tackle in 1999, and helped pave the way for Ron Dayne‘s Heisman season. The Badgers won the Rose Bowl in his final game for Wisconsin.

Tauscher was a seventh round selection in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, and spent 10 years with his hometown team, winning a Super Bowl and playing in 134 total games (126 starts).

His post-NFL career has continued to revolve around sports, as he is currently a radio personality for Badgers and Packers games.

Who wore No. 68 first?

• Guard August Backus was the first Badger to wear No. 68 in 1927.

Who wears No. 68 now?

• Sophomore offensive lineman Jaden Gault currently wears No. 68 for the Badgers. Gault has yet to take the field for the Badgers after dealing with depression issues last year following his enrollment at UW. While he hasn’t been with the team since last year, he is listed on the roster heading into the summer sessions.

Stay tuned to Badger of Honor as we continue our daily countdown in preparation of the season opener against Alabama.
