9. PENN STATE @ TEMPLE (Sept. 5, 2:30 p.m. CT) ESPN

I think the Nittany Lions show improvement from a year ago and against Temple will be a good test to see how much. Christian Hackenberg took a slight step back a season ago from his freshman year, but I expect the junior to be one of the better quarterbacks in the country. He has a valuable weapon at wide out in sophomore DaeSean Hamilton, who racked up 899 receiving yards to lead the team.

Temple on the other hand will look to avenge their 30-13 loss to Penn State from last year and improve on their six wins. Junior quarterback P.J. Walker underwhelmed at the quarterback situation, throwing 15 interceptions to just 13 touchdowns. But he was the second leading rusher for the Owls, compiling 324 yards on 106 carries. Temple will look to get the season started off on the right foot, but it won’t be an easy task.
Penn State wins the rematch from a year ago. Like I said before, this Nittany Lions team is going to be better than most will think.
