He still holds the school record for most career tackles by a defensive lineman — 444 — and that number is third all time among all positions in school history. He also tops the school record list with 276 career solo tackles.
In each of his four seasons at UW Krumrie was the Badgers leading tackler. He was a three-time first-team All-Big Ten selection, and was a consensus All-American in 1981. He was a team captain as a senior in 1982.
Krumrie started all 46 games of his UW career.
Following college, Krumrie was a 10th round draft pick — No. 276 overall — in the 193 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. He enjoyed a long NFL career from 1983 to 1994, the entirety spent with the Bengals.
He was twice a Pro Bowler (1987, 1988), a First Team All-Pro in 1988, and a Second Team All-Pro in 1987.
Krumrie and the Bengals played in Super Bowl XXIII. He totaled 1,018 tackles, 34.5 sacks and 13 fumble recoveries in his NFL career.
