On September 5th, the Wisconsin Football team opens its season against Alabama in Arlington, Texas. This high profile game will be featured on College GameDay, and is among the most highly anticipated non-conference clashes of the college football season.
Wisconsin Badgers
Most experts and fans don’t give Wisconsin much of a shot in this game despite being ranked 18th in the preseason coaches poll. Currently, the Badgers are 10.5-point underdogs. It is true that Alabama has a lot of NFL talent. They have also consistently been one of the best teams in the country over the last few years. But as far as position-by-position match ups go, Wisconsin is not that far behind.
In this preview, each Alabama position group will be pitted against the corresponding Wisconsin position group. They will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Talent, Experience, Depth, Potential. The winner of each position group match-up will be awarded 1-point.
Remember, this is not a prediction about who will win the game. Obviously, linebackers don’t have to go up against other linebackers. Alabama’s secondary doesn’t have to play against Wisconsin’s secondary. The purpose of this article is to find out which team is better at each position. The results may surprise some people.
Ok, let’s get started!
