  • The Wisconsin Badgers will be without Austin Traylor this weekend, a loss that will be felt for several weeks as the senior tight end is expected to miss 4-8 weeks as he recovers from a procedure on his arm.

It’s an especially tough loss considering the strong start Traylor was off to, tying for the team lead with three touchdowns on his 10 catches this season.

In his absence, the Badgers have a capable receiving tight end in Troy Fumagalli, and Wisconsin will need the redshirt sophomore to elevate his game this weekend. Joel Stave had been developing a nice relationship with Traylor, and the Badgers would like to see that continue with Fumagalli.

The lung tight end has proven catching ability, but he’s also missed plenty of time this season with an injury. Last week he had a wrap around his wrist and thumb that limited his hand mobility.

We’re unsure of how much he will continue to be affected by that injury, but we’re sure he needs to play a big role against Nebraska Saturday.
