Will Riley Dearring make a 3rd year leap?
By now, the story of Frank Kaminsky’s sophomore to junior leap is well documented. But improvements like that have been made forever under Bo Ryan. Ryan Evans went from averaging 2 PPG in his sophomore year to 11 PPG in his junior year. Duje Dukan barely played at all in his first two years at Wisconsin, but earned minutes in every single game his junior year. Zak Showalter earned key minutes last year after sitting patiently on the bench for 2 seasons.
Now, RS sophomore Riley Dearring can be the next bench to boom story. His 3-point shooting, athleticism, and defense should be enough to crack the rotation this year and play at least 10 minutes per game.
