The Wisconsin Badgers are headed for the big city to take on the Georgetown Hoyas in Madison Square Garden as a part of the 2K Classic, a tournament that benefits the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Badgers are riding a two game winning streak as victories over Siena and North Dakota followed a season-opening stunner that saw the Badgers fall at home to the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

The Badgers are averaging 79 points per game so far this season, led by junior point guard Bronson Koenig, who is scoring at a pace of 19.0 per game. Nigel Hayes is adding 14.0 a contest, while Vitto Brown adds 13.0. Redshirt freshman Ethan Happ broke out for 17 points against North Dakota, and is scoring 9.7 per game.
Hap and Brown are each averaging 5.7 boards per game to lead the team, while Zak Showalter is grabbing 5.3 per contest. Hayes, who has struggled shooting from the field, is leading the team with 5.0 assists per game, with Koenig adding 3.7 per contest.
Georgetown, meanwhile, is off to an 0-2 start after losses to Radford and #3 Maryland. The Hoyas are led offensively by Bradley Hayes, who is averaging a double-double of 17.5 points and 10.0 rebounds through Georgetown’s first two games.
D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera is scoring 14.5 per game, and Isaac Copeland adds 12.0 per game as the Hoyas average 75.5 points per contest. Smith-Rivera and Copeland combine for 8.5 assists per game.
As you’ll see below, the Badgers are slight favorites heading into the game. The winner will take on the winner of Duke-VCU on Sunday, with the other two teams squaring off for third place in the tournament.
