All-Time Team: Punt Returners

Jim Leonhard: UW’s best punt returner in school history made his start as a walk-on and became one of the best safeties ever in Madison. We’ll get to that part of his game later, as Leonhard was by far the school’s best punt returner in addition to his defensive duties.

Leonhard handled more punts than any other Badgers player (105) and totaled the most return yards in school history, 1,347.

His 12.8 yards per return average is second in school history, and his three punt returns for a touchdown are also tied for second in the record book.

Nick Davis: While Leonhard takes the cake among Wisconsin punt returners, Nick Davis was a darn good returner in his own right.

He’s second to Leonhard with 83 career punt returns and 1,007 return yards as he and Leonhard are the only two Badgers to break 1,000 career punt return yards.

Davis is also tied with Leonhard with three career punt return touchdowns, and his 12.1 career punt return average is third all time at UW.
