Capital One Bowl: Wisconsin 24, Auburn 10

In the final game of Barry Alvarez’s coaching career (before a couple of games brought him back to the sidelines later in his career) the Wisconsin Badgers emerged the victors of the Capital One Bowl by a 14-point margin over the favored Auburn Tigers.

Brandon Williams caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from John Stocco to open the scoring, and a Taylor Mehlhaff field goal gave Wisconsin a 10-0 first quarter lead. Stocco found Owen Daniels for a second quarter touchdown to put the Badgers up 17-0 at the break.

Auburn scored the next 10 points, but it was all they would get as Brian Calhoun punctuated a 213-yard effort on the ground with a 30-yard touchdown run to seal the 24-10 victory.
