Rose Bowl: Wisconsin 17, Stanford 9

The 86th Rose Bowl game featured the Wisconsin Badgers and the Stanford Cardinal as the Badgers sought their second Rose Bowl win in as many years. Wisconsin and Ron Dayne wouldn’t be denied on the way to a 17-9 victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, a Stanford field goal was the game’s first points, with the Badgers answering on a field goal of their own. The Cardinal added a Kerry Carter touchdown run to take a 9-3 lead into the half.

Dayne put the Badgers ahead 10-9 in the third quarter on a four-yard touchdown run, and Brooks Bollinger sealed the victory with a one-yard run in the fourth quarter as the Badgers won the Rose Bowl for the second straight season.

Dayne won the Rose Bowl MVP Award for the second straight year.
