The only tie game on this list, the 1951 matchup between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Ohio State Buckeyes was a defensive showcase for the famed “Hard Rocks” Wisconsin Badgers defense.
The Badgers had a daunting task ahead to slow down Ohio State halfback and 1950 Heisman winner Vic Janowicz, one of the best Buckeyes in the history of the school.
The “Hard Rocks” lived up to their name, and completely stuffed Jankowicz, holding the back to 11 yards on 11 carries. Janowicz, Ohio State’s punter and kicker, also missed the extra point that would have broken a fourth quarter tie.
Wisconsin outgained Ohio State 356-106 in the tie.
