The Badgers, who earned a chance in the Sweet Sixteen thanks to a buzzer-beater three-pointer from Bronson Koenig, will be taking on a Notre Dame team that is also still alive thanks to a buzzer-beater.

Just as the Badgers needed every second of their round of 32 matchup with the two-seeded Xavier Musketeers t come away with the victory, the Irish needed a final second bucket to put away a streaking 14th-seeded Stephen F. Austin team that looked in control down the stretch.

Notre Dame forced a defensive stop, and with 11 seconds to work with, got off a shot around the rim, and Rex Pflueger‘s tip-in at the last second gave the Fighting Irish a another game in the tournament.

So it will be a six-seven matchup in the bottom half of the East Region to go along with the one-five matchup of North Carolina vs. Indiana in the top half.

This will be the first time the Badgers square off against the Fighting Irish in the NCAA Tournamentin the history of the two schools.

The Badgers and Fighting Irish will take the court at 6:27 p.m. CT Friday night in Philadelphia.

The winner will be able to watch the other game in the region be played, with the Elite Eight matchup looming on Sunday.
