The Wisconsin Badgers are set for a Sweet Sixteen matchup with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish
After advancing past Xavier in the round of 32 in dramatic fashion, the Wisconsin Badgers will set their sights on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, their Sweet Sixteen opponent.
The Badgers, who earned a chance in the Sweet Sixteen thanks to a buzzer-beater three-pointer from Bronson Koenig, will be taking on a Notre Dame team that is also still alive thanks to a buzzer-beater.
Just as the Badgers needed every second of their round of 32 matchup with the two-seeded Xavier Musketeers t come away with the victory, the Irish needed a final second bucket to put away a streaking 14th-seeded Stephen F. Austin team that looked in control down the stretch.
Notre Dame forced a defensive stop, and with 11 seconds to work with, got off a shot around the rim, and Rex Pflueger‘s tip-in at the last second gave the Fighting Irish a another game in the tournament.
