Most Improved Player

The Winner: Jazz Peavy

Other Nominees: D’Cota Dixon, Dare Ogunbowale

Going off of Comeback Player of the Year, Most Improved Player goes to a player who either had a down 2015 season and emerged as a star by the end of 2016. You could make a case for all three options, and we certainly made a case for each player. However, in the end wideout Jazz Peavy seemed to make the biggest jump in our minds which earns him the Most Improved Award.

Peavy made an impact early in his career as a freshman, and had a second solid season to build off of. In his third year out however Peavy took the jump from a promising looking wideout to the #1 option in the passing game and a viable run option as well.

Peavy finished the regular season in 2015 with 300 yards and no touchdowns, but took a huge jump in 2016. Peavy finished the regualr season this year with 635 yards and five scores on the ground, and over 100 yards and a score in the running game on a 46 yard jet sweep against Northwestern. All in all Peavy’s numbers are solid considering a somewhat down passing game. It was a very improved season for Jazz, and he will enter into the 2017 season as the Badgers #1 passing threat once again next fall. Here’s to hoping that Jazz makes another jump into next season as well!
