Happy Valentine’s Day from the Wisconsin Badgers and all of us here at Badger of Honor

Valentine’s Day can be a holiday of love and passion, but also something that is overlooked and viewed as a pointless day. Regardless of your stance, the Wisconsin Badgers athletic teams and their Twitter accounts had some fun on Tuesday, making sure all of their followers and fans felt love in the most clever way.

There are many words that can be associated with Valentine’s Day and even more words that can be integrated with the word “love.” The Badgers football team made sure we did not overlook anything, starting off the day with a little musical reference.

Peavy was quite the fan of this post.

The play on words continued in the receiving core, as George Rushing wished everyone a happy Valentine’s Day in another play on words.

Last names were not the only thing being used in these Twitter cards as tight end Troy Fumagalli’s catch in the Cotton Bowl versus Western Michigan likely earned him as the face of this next playful wish.

The Badgers basketball team account posed for some easy ones that have not (yet) been named. Greg Gard is a name that comes to mind as an easy target for a pun so if you happen to come across one later, you can reference this post as the spark for the idea.

This next one seemed too easy, but had to be posted.

And of course, we could not go without the men’s hockey team and their play on words with the most iconic symbol that represents Valentine’s Day: the heart.
