Yes the Badgers have struggled mightily, but why?

There’s a lot of things that are going wrong for Wisconsin Basketball right now, so its hard to point at just one certain thing contributing to the tumultuous run the Badgers have been on so far this season. So what is plaguing the Wisconsin Badgers? In all honesty, its hard to tell. But then again, it isnt. All season the inconsistencies have been there, they just have not been as impactful as they are today. You see it worked against the lesser teams like Idaho State and others in the beginning, but now you see that teams have figured out what plagues Wisconsin and are beating them at their own game.

One of the biggest problems with the Badgers game is the lack of an offensive superstar, which many did not see as becoming a problem with such an experience laden team. With virtually almost the entire team back this season many thought Wisconsin would have no trouble scoring in cohesion with one another, but the team has yet to really get any consistent production from its starters or bench. Sure, they’ve all had flashes, but at a time where your season is virtually on the line its hard to believe that a team that was banking on experience is finding such a struggle in taking advantage of the opportunity in front of them.

So, whats next for Wisconsin Basketball? It’s seemingly time to sink or swim over the course of these next two weeks. If the Badgers are unable to pick up a few more solid wins they could be looking at a 8 or possible 9 seed come tournament time. Its unlikely that the Badgers will be able to lay claim to the Big Ten Title, so it’s time to hit the reset button on this season and see what sort of run they can put together. While yes they have struggled mightily,  there is a reason they were so highly touted coming into the season. Experience still plays come March, and while they have not looked the part, you have to still expect the Badgers to be a tough out if they are able to make the necessary adjustments.
