The historic home of Wisconsin Badgers football, Camp Randall, is enduring its 100th year of existence.
In 1917, the Wisconsin Badgers football program unleashed what is now known as a house of horrors for opposing teams.
Home to memorable moments, upsets, titles, and more, Camp Randall will be celebrating an historic feat in the 2017 and will be enjoying countless devotions to the football stadium that has severed Wisconsin football for the last century.
The Wisconsin athletic department wants fans and former attendees of the stadium to submit their most memorable moments and memories to be acknowledged throughout the year, and also nominate specific individuals that have helped make the last 100 years special. You can find more information on this topic here.
Beginning in May, the Badgers will release their “Camp Randall 100” campaign, which will start 100 days prior to the college football season and the Badgers’ home opener versus Utah State.
"When the “Camp Randall 100” is unveiled, we will include the best nominations and memories submitted by fans in the presentations that will be housed on our special 100 Years of Camp Randall website, which will debut in May."
Using the hashtag on Twitter “#CampRandall100,” you can find numerous accounts of fans and media members sharing their best moments in the stadium. From David Gilreath’s opening kickoff for a touchdown vs. Ohio State to Wisconsin celebrating another Big Ten West crown after capping off a Senior Day come-from-behind victory against Minnesota, the Badgers want you to be the developers behind this year’s historic campaign.
This is just a preliminary announcement for the many things Wisconsin has planned for the 100-year anniversary. Various fan events, prizes, contests, and more are being planned through the entire year, not just starting in May. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements regarding this special time.
