The 2017 NFL Draft just concluded and 35 Big Ten athletes were drafted.

I decided to look back at the previous four years and compare how many players were drafted from each Big Ten school.   Not all draft picks should be created equal.  Thus teams should be rewarded for having players picked in early rounds. I set up a simple inverse scoring system to give more weight to early round selections.

Round 1 = 7 Points

Round 2 = 6 Points

Round 3 = 5 Points

Round 4 = 4 Points

Round 5 = 3 Points

Round 6 = 2 Points

Round 1 = 7 Points

I used total points to establish the draft success ranking.  Obviously, the more total picks and the more early round picks the better for recruiting sales pitches.  The numbers were pulled from the NFL.com Draft Tracker tool by year.

Again, this is from 2014-2017.
